AARP Mississippi is Looking for Volunteer Leaders

AARP Mississippi offers volunteer opportunities that allow you to work in your own community. Members and friends are working with us statewide to make our communities more livable for people of all ages, provide resources for folks caring for loved ones, and raise awareness about fraud and scams.  Below, you’ll find even more ways to help!

Regional Volunteer Leaders

We are looking for volunteers to help lead AARP’s community and advocacy work in Mississippi’s four Congressional Districts. This volunteer assists staff and the State President, as well as leads the region in executing tactics to support AARP’s advocacy and community outreach work.

Congressional District Team Leaders

We are looking for volunteers to assist Regional Volunteer Leaders in Mississippi’s four Congressional Districts. This volunteer helps implement community tactics by working closely with staff, the State President and other volunteers.

Advocacy

We are looking for volunteers to support AARP’s state and federal advocacy agenda. This volunteer works closely with staff and the State President to communicate with legislators about issues that are important to Mississippi’s 50-plus population and their families.

Communications

We are looking for volunteers to support AARP’s communications work. This volunteer works closely with staff and the State President to assist with a variety of communications tactics, including writing letters to the editor, engaging in social media, writing blogs, and contacting local media.

Speakers Bureau

We are looking for volunteers to speak about AARP’s programs and efforts to serve the state’s 50-plus population. This volunteer will work closely with staff and the State President to learn about AARP’s programs and help identify opportunities to share the information.
