In its ongoing efforts to fight fraud, AARP Montana is partnering with a coalition of crime prevention agencies to sponsor “how-to” workshops entitled “Operation: Stop Scams - Fight Back Against Fraud”. Presenters will discuss Internet and telemarketing scams, investment fraud, credit card and identity theft and what to do if you think you’ve become a victim. One of AARP Montana members’ top concerns centers on financial exploitation, said Tim Summers, AARP State Director. “Information is a consumer’s best defense against becoming a victim.” Learn how to protect yourself - hear from the experts at criminal justice agencies including the Office of Consumer Protection under the Montana Attorney General’s Office, the Office of the Commissioner of Securities and Insurance, the Montana Division of Banking and Financial Institutions and the Federal Trade Commission. The workshop is free and open to the public. Reservations are required, space is limited and a complimentary dinner is provided! Don't let con artists separate you from your hard-earned dollars. Plan to register today.
