Special Discounts on Membership at The Myrna Loy Center
When the old Lewis and Clark County Jail, built in 1894, closed in 1985, the entire Helena community helped transform the historic granite jailhouse into a vibrant arts center. They named the new center after actress Myrna Loy, who grew up in Helena.
Today The Myrna Loy Center is known nationwide as one of the most remarkable small arts organizations in the rural West. The center provides arts education experiences to thousands of students each year; hosts special community recitals and workshops; provides grants to working Montana artists; celebrates and supports Montana filmmakers, artists, musicians, and performers; and presents world-class performances that otherwise might not be seen outside a major metropolitan area. The center also shows first-run films each night—many of them Oscar and Golden Globe winners.
WHAT: AARP members and guests get a $10 discount off an annual membership normally priced at $60. In addition to supporting the local non-profit performing arts center, members will receive two of the Center’s ever-popular free popcorn tickets.
WHEN: January 15, 2019 – January 1, 2021
