Helena, Mont., June 4, 2025 – AARP Montana is delighted to announce that its “How to Vote” animated video PSA series has been honored with a Gold Viddy Award, recognizing outstanding achievement in video and digital content creation. The Viddy Awards, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), celebrate excellence in video production, with over 2,700 entries from across the United States and 23 countries in the 2025 competition cycle.

The “How to Vote” series, designed to help simplify Montana’s complex voting laws for voters aged 50 and older, distills essential information into an engaging, accessible format. Launched in 2024, the series provides clear guidance on voter registration, absentee voting, ID requirements, polling place locations, and more -- empowering Montanans to confidently participate in the electoral process. The videos have been recognized for their clarity, creativity, and impact in promoting civic engagement among older adults, a group that represented 65% of Montana’s electorate in the 2022 midterm election.
“We are honored to receive the Gold Viddy Award for our ‘How to Vote’ series,” said Tim Summers, AARP Montana State Director. “Our goal is to make voting understandable and easier for Montanans -- particularly those 50-plus -- and this recognition validates the power of clear, creative communication.”
The Viddy Awards (formerly the Videographer Awards) is one of the most coveted awards in the video industry. Since 1994, thousands of production and communication professionals have entered their best and most creative work. According to the Viddy Awards Website, “The goal of the Viddy Awards is to identify and recognize the video artisans who excel in the scope of their own environment. Winners range from network news operations to local cable access, from large production companies to freelancers, and from international advertising agencies to boutique PR firms.”
Taking home The Gold Viddy Award underscores AARP Montana’s commitment to excellence and innovative storytelling -- and its mission to ensure voters are informed and empowered. The award-winning animated video series was created and produced by AARP Montana Communications Director, Stacia Dahl and is available at aarp.org/MtVotes.
