Every day we are bombarded by annoying and potentially dangerous illegal robocalls. Motives behind these calls range from telemarketing spam to attempts at outright theft. In fact telephone scams cost U.S. consumers $429 million in 2018.

What can you do about all those unwanted calls? AARP Nebraska and the Federal Communications Commission invite you to join a conversation with FCC Chairman Ajit Pai on what the government is doing to crack down on illegal robocalls and how you can better protect yourself.

Chairman Pai, and other FCC representatives, Nebraska Assistant Attorney General, Meghan Stoppel along with AARP State President, Dave Holmquist and AARP Fraud Expert, Kathy Stokes will share tips to help identify suspicious phone calls and what to do about them.

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.
