Nebraska Fraud Special Premieres on NET World June 15

Tune into NET World on Thursday, June 15 and hear from some of Nebraska’s leading fraud prevention experts about what you can do to combat fraud and financial exploitation.

AARP Nebraska is pleased to be a cosponsor of Protecting Senior and Vulnerable Nebraskans from Fraud, Abuse and Exploitation produced by the State Unit on Aging in the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

During the 30-minute program, the panelists will share insights about common frauds and scams in Nebraska, along with tips to avoid being victimized. You’ll learn how to stop unwanted mail, place a security freeze on your credit history and file a customer complaint — among other things.

The experts are Jim Hegarty, Better Business Bureau; Ryan Sothan, Nebraska Attorney General’s Office; Benjamin Kroeze, Adult Protective Services; Cindy Koenig-Warnke, Lincoln Police Department; Mary Christensen, Lincoln Medical Partnership; and Mary Wilson, Buford Law Office.

The public television program will air on NET World and online this Thursday, June 15 at 6:30 p.m. CDT.  Repeat broadcast times for the program are:

  • June 29, 8:00 p.m. CDT
  • July 2, 2:00 p.m. CDT
