Conference on Aging Seeks Nominations for Community Service Awards

The New Mexico Conference on Aging seeks nominations for its Aging and Community Service Awards to be given out during the 40 th Annual Conference on Aging, scheduled August 21 and 22, at the Isleta Hotel and Casino. The deadline for all nominations is June 1, 2018.

The awards recognize individuals, organizations and businesses that have made significant contributions to benefit our state, local communities, and older New Mexicans.

 

 

Categories and Criteria:

Rose Wood Outstanding Older Adult Award

Nominees:

  • Must have made exceptional and lasting contributions that have national or statewide impact on the elder community.
  • Must be 60 years of age or older in 2018.
  • Must be residents of New Mexico.

Lovola Burgess Lifetime Leadership Award

Nominees:

  • Must have made exceptional and lasting contributions during their lifetimes that enrich the lives and welfare of older New Mexicans.
  • Must have served in leadership roles throughout a significant portion of their lives.
  • Must be residents of New Mexico.

Gregorita Chavarria Arts Award

Nominees:

  • Must have made significant contributions to the arts in New Mexico.
  • Must reside (at least part-time) in New Mexico.
  • Must be age 50 or older in 2018.

Outstanding Professional/Public Service Award

Nominees:

  • Must have made unique and lasting contributions that benefit the aging population in New Mexico.
  • May be organizations or individuals that reside (at least part-time) in New Mexico.
  • May be national organizations that have a strong presence in New Mexico.

Nomination forms can be mailed, faxed or emailed to the attention of Andrea Allen, Awards Subcommittee, New Mexico Conference on Aging, 625 Silver Ave. SW, Suite 414, Albuquerque, NM 87102 or by fax 505-383-3926 or emailed to Allen at the address listed above.

Again all nominations must be turned in by June 1, 2018.
