One of AARP’s priority issues for the Session – eliminating the tax on Social Security benefits – has hit several hurdles, despite five different bills being introduced that aim at eliminating the tax in some manner.

AARP New Mexico supports the creation of the Prescription Drug Affordability Board to oversee and monitor prescription drug costs in the state and will work during the 2021 New Mexico Legislative Session to get a bill passed establishing the board.

AARP is excited to bring its Block Party back to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta for the fourth year in a row. In addition to our activations, AARP is spotlighting the work of their charitable affiliate, AARP Foundation, which works to end senior poverty by helping vulnerable older adults build economic opportunity and social connectedness.
