AARP ND accepting 2023 Andrus Award nominations

In honor of AARP's founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, AARP North Dakota is now accepting nominees for its 2023 Andrus Award for community service. This award honors North Dakotans, 50 and older, who enrich the lives of their community members with their talent and skills. Award recipients receive $1,000 to give to the non-profit organization of their choice.

“We look forward to shining a light on North Dakotans who lift up others and make their communities better,” said AARP North Dakota Director Josh Askvig.

Nominations will be evaluated by AARP North Dakota based on how the volunteer’s work has improved the community, reflected AARP’s vision and mission, and inspired other volunteers.

Within your nomination:

  • Be specific about the nominee's contributions to the community.
  • Give examples of of the work preformed and when, where and who was served.
  • Please do not include accomplishments for paid work (a small stipend for covering volunteer activities is okay).
  • Ask other people to nominate the same person.
  • The nomination deadline is July 15, 2023.
