AARP-Sponsored Fitness Park Opens in Bismarck

fitlot render

AARP is collaborating with national nonprofit FitLot™ to build one outdoor fitness parks in each state and territory we serve. The fitness parks are designed for users of all ages and abilities.

Each fitness park consists of a sun-sail for shade and versatile exercise stations designed to use one’s own body weight as resistance, which makes each piece of equipment adaptable to the user’s ability.

The new fitness park in Bismarck is located at Jaycee Centennial Park, near the corner of Century Ave. and 4th St.

As part of AARP’s sponsorship, certified FitLot community trainers will provide three years of classes and other programming, in addition to instructor-led programming coordinated by the Bismarck Parks and Recreation Department.

Each fitness park includes signs that clearly show how the equipment can be adjusted and used by people of different ages and abilities.

Go here for more information on the Bismarck FitLot, including instructional videos on how to safely use the equipment.

The fitness park is a part of AARP’s ongoing commitment to helping people take control of their health as they age.
