AARP Shares Advice to Support Caregivers During Coronavirus Outbreak

While many Americans are focused on personal and public health concerns during the coronavirus crisis, AARP shines a light on the 40 million unpaid family caregivers in the United States. Many caregivers routinely carry out difficult health care tasks without adequate training, and coronavirus is likely to exacerbate their stress.

Bill Walsh is AARP’s Coronavirus Response Lead and can provide tips and advice to caregivers who are struggling at this time.

In an interview on Wednesday, March 18 at 7:00 am on Spectrum News Ohio, Walsh will answer questions such as:

· Tell us about Ohio’s 1.5 million family caregivers – who are they? What do they do?

· How is the coronavirus epidemic affecting caregivers?

· What can caregivers do to help those they are responsible for?

· How can caregivers help themselves during this stressful time?

· Where can people go for more information and assistance?

Bill Walsh is Coronavirus Response Lead and Vice President of Communications at AARP, a national, non-profit consumer group with 38 million members.
