AARP Eye Center
Every day, Americans lose money and control of their personal information to scams and fraud. Everyone is at risk, Ohioans included.
A Westwood resident reported that they were searching online for a restaurant and was suddenly urged to call a mysterious number due to an online error. Scams are becoming more and more prevalent online and it’s important that we know how to recognize them.
According to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (better known as IC3), there were over 260,000 consumer complaints in 2013 that amounted to a total loss of over $780 million dollars. And that’s just for instances that were reported.
To stay on top of the latest scams and fraud attempts, join the AARP Fraud Watch Network for a Cyber Safety presentation!
