AARP Eye Center
This Valentine’s Day, AARP Pennsylvania volunteers made a meaningful impact by delivering roses and personalized cards to nursing homes across the state. Volunteers in the Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and York County came together to help older adults feel connected and valued, especially those who may be at risk of isolation.
Through their participation in the 12th year of Cupid Crew, volunteers prepared roses, paired with personal cards featuring messages of care and kindness. These thoughtful gestures were delivered to nursing homes, where many older adults live without regular visitors, ensuring they felt remembered and appreciated on Valentine’s Day.
While the act of delivering a card or rose may seem small, the effect on those who receive them is extraordinary. For many, this simple act of kindness can provide a much-needed sense of connection and joy, demonstrating that they are not alone.
AARP Pennsylvania is grateful to its volunteers for their dedication and compassion. Their efforts to bring love and community to nursing home residents make a significant difference in the lives of older adults.
If you want to be part of future efforts like this one and help tackle loneliness in your community, we encourage you to get involved. To learn more about Cupid Crew, please visit the Wish of a Lifetime website.
