AARP is encouraging individuals 50 and over to explore the state this summer by participating in the AARP South Dakota State Park Challenge.
The event, which runs through Monday, Sept. 6, invites people to go to any state park and register their visit online.
In September, participants will receive giveaway items, which will vary depending on the number of park visits they record. This is the second year for the parks challenge, which is an alternative to guided hikes offered in previous years.
