The coronavirus pandemic is expected to linger over this year’s legislative session when state lawmakers return to Pierre this month.
AARP South Dakota members can receive a weekly email with the latest legislative news, tracking bills focused on improving safety in long-term care facilities and on other key issues.
Nursing homes throughout the state have a higher rate of COVID-19 cases among staff and residents than the national average, data show.
In recent years, AARP South Dakota has supported boosting access to high-speed internet and removing restrictions that limit nurses’ ability to practice to the full extent of their training.
