AARP Eye Center
Last year was a time of racial reckoning, and AARP wants to continue the dialogue about how we can overcome unconscious biases that affect our lives and relationships.
AARP Tennessee has been holding online “Courageous Conversations,” which are led by cultural strategist Derek Young and leaders of the National Museum of African American Music.
Participants can chat virtually and are asked to respond to quick surveys on racial issues. The events will continue to be held online until in-person gatherings are safe.
AARP Tennessee is seeking volunteers who feel strongly about furthering the dialogue on racial equity. Such local volunteers will serve as ambassadors for the message, ultimately helping to lead next-step activities in their communities.
