In the meantime, here are a couple games you could play and the ways they can support healthy aging:

Scrabble

Scrabble is a wordplay board game that activates multiple regions of the brain. Playing this game can help slow down the effects of cognitive aging as well as boost your social engagement.

How Scrabble helps your brain:

· Memory and Word Recognition: Playing scrabble challenges you to recognize old words, learn new ones, and remember all of them!

· Mathematics: Wordplay isn’t the only way to win the game. In scrabble you must calculate your points using addition and multiplication.

· Critical Thinking: A game of strategy, you must precisely calculate your moves and anticipate your opponent's patterns of behavior.

Solitaire

This is a card game that can be played both alone and with others. This game has many different variations, some more difficult than others.

How Solitaire helps your brain:

· Concentration: In this game, you must stay aware of the changing card layout and sort cards by suit and rank.

· Patience: Often players must wait until the right time to play their cards, encouraging them to make thoughtful decisions and stay focused on the long-term goal instead of making impulsive decisions.
