YELLOW DOT: Get Ready to Sign Up for New Safety Program in Tennessee

Sumner County Yellow Dot
The AARP chapter in Gallatin launched the Yellow Dot program in 2008 and folks there have been working tirelessly to implement it statewide ever since.

Did you know that a little yellow dot on your car windshield could help save your life? Started in Connecticut in 2002, the Yellow Dot program has spread like wildfire.

It was launched in Sumner County, Tennessee, in 2008.

And AARP Tennessee volunteers who worked hard to pass a law authorizing the Yellow Dot program statewide are very excited that it will be ready to go in early 2013. State officials had hoped to have the materials ready to distribute this fall, but now say that it will take a little longer.

They are putting together a web page that will help keep you up to date on the situation. In the meantime, visit the state Department of Transportation web site or send your email address to tnaarp@aarp.org.

We will be working with the state to announce the launch and could use YOUR help spreading the news!

Follow us on Facebook and on Twitter to keep up with the latest updates.
