Ward Liaisons Needed to Advocate

Volunteer_hands

AARP DC is working to make sure older residents don’t get short shrift when local lawmakers make decisions about funding programs.

The pandemic has led to budget deficits in the district, making cuts possible. Want to help protect critical priorities? AARP DC is looking for volunteers to serve as ward liaisons, who fight for issues such as nutrition access, affordable housing and lowering prescription drug costs by representing the community at local meetings and in testimony before the D.C. Council.

Those interested should reach out to Brittany Kitt, at bkitt@aarp.org, or Peter Rankin, at prankin@aarp.org. Stay up to date at aarp.org/dc.
