BECU and AARP Offer Free Shred and e-Cycle Events

Paper documents are a common source of identity theft. Protect yourself by shredding sensitive documents at our free shredding events. We'll also accept old TVs, CPUs, monitors, laptops and cellphones for safe disposal. A small recycle fee may apply to some electronic items such as printers and VCRs.

Representatives will also be onsite to collect cash, nonperishable food items, clothing and household items to support a nonprofit in your neighborhood (note: Bellingham location will not accept clothing or household items).

Shredding will be provided on Saturday, October 18 in Tukwila, Federal Way, and Everett. Shredding in Spokane will be provided on Saturday, October 25. Locations and times are as follows:

**Your donations will go to the Tukwila Pantry Food bank.
**Northwest Center will collect clothing and small household items.
**In collaboration with Bike Works, the Tukwila location will accept bike donations that will be refurbished for children and adults in need.

**Partners INW will be on-site to collect cash and nonperishables.
**Goodwill will collect clothing and household items.



Discard Details
Shred up to three grocery bags or two banker boxes. E-Cycle TVs, CPUs, monitors, laptops and cell phones.

Additional Details

  • BECU employees are on-site during the event to help members shred, e-Cycle and submit donations. Documents will be destroyed by Shred-it, a professional document destruction service with a mobile shredding unit.
  • For additional details regarding the electronic recycling service, visit E-wastes.com (Everett and Tukwila locations), Uptekk Recycling (Federal Way), and Goodwill (Spokane)..
  • A small recycle fee may apply to other electronic items such as printers or VCRs.
