Help us Clear One Last SeniorCare Hurdle

SeniorCare

Thanks to incredible support from thousands of people all across the state, SeniorCare – Wisconsin’s popular and cost-efficient prescription drug assistance program – will continue unchanged in the 2015-17 state budget.

This huge victory for Wisconsin seniors would never have happened without all the phone calls, emails, legislative visits, public testimony at budget hearings, and other efforts that Wisconsinites like you made over the past couple months to emphasize the critical importance of protecting SeniorCare from a proposed major overhaul.

For all we’ve achieved together so far, we wish to say thanks. But there is one more action we are urging you to take to make sure SeniorCare continues on as a lifeline for so many Wisconsinites who struggle to make ends meet.

While the SeniorCare decision has been made at the state level, the federal government must still decide whether to extend the waiver that makes this program possible.

Wisconsinites currently have a brief window of opportunity to make public comments about the value of SeniorCare to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

After all public comments are taken into consideration, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will decide whether to extend the waiver that Wisconsin needs in order to continue offering SeniorCare for three more years. The current waiver expires on Dec. 31 of this year.

ACTION ALERT: We’re so close to the finish line, but we’re not there yet. Please take a moment to add your official comments to the public record. The form is very short and easy to fill out and submit.

For years both seniors and the State of Wisconsin have benefited greatly from the success of SeniorCare. Let’s work together to make sure it remains as a viable option for so many Wisconsinites who rely on it. For many of them, this is truly a life or death issue.
