Just a reminder that open enrollment for health coverage through the Affordable Care Act’s Health Insurance Marketplace ends on Monday, March 31.
If you don’t have health coverage, you can sign up through the end of this month and avoid a penalty.
Plus, financial help paying for premiums and co-pays may be available to you. Check out AARP's web tool to learn more about the health care law and where you can go for help.
After March 31 you can get new private health insurance for 2014 only through a special enrollment period if you have a qualifying life event, like a job loss, birth or divorce.
The Health Insurance Marketplace is just for people who need to buy private health insurance. If you have insurance through Medicare, that coverage is separate from the marketplace.
