To help residents get a jump on post-work preparations, AARP Alaska is offering free Secure Your Future workshops in Fairbanks.
Workshops at the Fairbanks Airport La Quinta Inn (4920 Dale Road) will discuss the ins and outs of Medicare—including enrollment, coverage and costs—and financial security, such as investment fundamentals, public-employee retirement, insurance and Social Security basics.
Financial advisers will offer four financial-security sessions, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., after the Saturday, May 11, Medicare workshop.
The Alaska Medicare Information Office will present workshops on May 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and May 11, from 9 to 11 a.m.
