Arizonans 50+ Demand Quality Long-Term Care
Currently, leaders in the Arizona state legislature are considering policies that will impact the long-term care of older Arizonans. AARP recently asked registered Arizona voters age 50 and older about these issues:
Choices for Long-Term Care
Almost 90 percent said it was important for a loved one to be able to choose where long-term services are provided with 84 percent preferring to receive care at home. This support is across party lines.
Extremely or Very Important
Republicans = 89%
Democrats = 94%
Independents = 88%
Bipartisan Agreement for Quality Care
Ninety percent of Arizona voters 50-plus support increasing regular safety inspections of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
Strongly or Somewhat Support
Republicans = 86%
Democrats = 96%
Independents = 91%
State Funds for Needed Resources
Arizona voters 50-plus support increasing state funding and resources for long-term care for older Arizonans.
Strongly or Somewhat Support = 84%
Quality Long-Term Care for Nursing Home Residents
Arizona voters 50-plus agree — the quality of care for nursing home residents is extremely or very important.
