As con artists ratchet up schemes to get your money, AARP Arizona is working with the state attorney general’s office to help you thwart them.
Scams involving phishing, fake “family” calls and gift-card cons are prevalent in Arizona. The AARP Fraud Watch Network is holding two free forums with speakers from law enforcement, the Better Business Bureau and other organizations to address what Dana Marie Kennedy, AARP Arizona state director, calls fraud’s “financially and emotionally devastating” impacts.
The forums are Saturdays at 9 a.m., with a breakfast at 8:30 a.m.
