AARP Arizona is involved in the legislative process by advocating for issues important to the 50+ population, including long-term care, caregiving, housing, transportation, and consumer protection, as well as by fighting to protect existing programs and services.
Now more than ever, it is essential for AARP members to make their voices heard by their elected officials.
One way to do so is by signing up to become an e-activist, which provides members the opportunity to be part of a powerful network of advocates, receive important legislative updates, and make their voices heard on key pieces of legislation.
“Ethel Percy Andrus, the founder of AARP, once said that ‘An army of useful citizens can do what no one person can do alone.’ An overwhelming response from AARP members on the measures that are important to seniors will deliver the message to Arizona’s elected officials that aging issues are of great importance to Arizonans," said Joe Marquart, AARP Arizona President.
