AARP Eye Center
This year, the Arkansas State Office has decided to have a smaller Andrus celebration that will allow us to focus on training and motivating volunteers who are aligning their volunteer service hours with AARP Arkansas priorities. Attendance will be restricted to portal-assigned AARP Arkansas volunteers, the Andrus Award and Distinguished Service Award winners, and their invitees.
If you are interested in attending the Andrus Award ceremony in 2024, please adhere to the following requirements:
1. Must be assigned as an active AARP Arkansas volunteer in the volunteer portal (please note that chapter volunteers are not automatically state office volunteers).
2. Must have volunteer service hours updated in the portal. Please schedule an appointment with a volunteer portal champion to learn how to enter your hours before December.
3. Must have a minimum of 10 volunteer service hours (there is flexibility in how those hours are achieved).
4. Must have volunteer portal record updated in the portal prior to December 1. Please schedule an appointment with a volunteer portal champion to learn how to update your portal records.
Also, this year the total number of service hours will be the primary determinant of how the Distinguished Service winner will be selected.
If you need support accessing or completing this information in the volunteer portal, please contact your portal champions Rita Qualls or Joan Diehl for assistance. Portal trainings are offered monthly on the fourth Thursday of each month.
