AARP Eye Center
This year the AARP Community Challenge grant program aims to improve neighborhoods and connect residents during the coronavirus pandemic. AARP is donating $2.4 million for 184 projects nationwide.
Arkansas received three grants. The city of Hot Springs was awarded $18,370 to support a new music-history mural in the historic Malvern Avenue neighborhood that will help people understand the rich heritage of the African American community.
The Malvern-Hot Spring County Library will use its $11,140 award to improve pedestrian access with a visible crosswalk, as well as to add a story trail and pollinator garden near the library.
The city of Stamps has received a $5,874 grant to make upgrades at facilities at the Maya Angelou City Park.
