AARP brings free Technology, Education, Knowledge (TEK) classes to central AR this summer

AARP Arkansas is bringing free   Technology, Education, Knowledge – or TEK - classes to central Arkansas this summer.

AARP TEK offers three hands-on workshops — Intro to iPad; Books, News, and Music-iPad; and Staying Safe Online-iPad—for those who want to get the most out of their computer tablets and to feel more comfortable with technology. Tablets will be provided for practice, and friendly AARP TEK guides will answer your questions.

The three workshops are as follows:

Intro to iPad: 10-11:30 a.m. Are you new to mobile technology, and ready to discover the power of apps? Join us for a hands-on workshop covering iPad skills from touchscreen basics, texting, taking & sharing photos, downloading apps, and more.

Books, News, and Music-iPad : 12:30-1:30 p.m. OR 4:30 -5:30 p.m. Take your daily news, digital book collection, and favorite songs with you, wherever you go. Explore having fun with digital media on tablets in this hands-on workshop. Note that the Books, News, and Music session repeats later during the day.

Staying Safe Online-iPad: 2:30-3:30 p.m. If you want to ensure that you’re doing what you can to be SAFE online, then this course is for you. This hands-on tablet workshop will cover ways to identify and avoid some of the most common online scams.
