AARP Arkansas is packing a lot into spring, and they want to invite you. From its annual Shred Fest in the Capitol City, designed to fight fraud, to its first-ever Livable Communities Bike Audit in Elaine, which will explore the Delta Heritage Trail, there will be something for everyone. · Arkansas Veterans Team – Join the AARP Arkansas Veterans Team on Tuesday, April 15, 11 a.m. at 1701 Centerview Drive, Suite 205, Little Rock. · Volunteer Interest Session: Little Rock – Interested in giving your time and talents to help people 50-plus in the Natural State? · Fight Fraud. Shred it! – AARP Arkansas brings back one of its most popular events of the year, Shred Fest Central Arkansas. One of the best ways to fight identity theft and fraud is to shred confidential documents. This free, open-to-the-public event happens in the parking lot of the Redding Building, 1701 Centerview, Little Rock, on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. – noon. Optionally, non-perishable food will be collected for the Arkansas Food Bank. · Bike the Delta Trail – AARP Arkansas is conducting an accessibility audit on a one-mile stretch of the Delta Heritage Trail on Saturday, May 17, at Turning Point Park at the corner of Lee Street Community Center, 112 Main Street, Elaine. This free, open-to-the-public event will start at 11 a.m. with a brief training and safety briefing followed by a walk and/or cycle. Accessibility items such as walkers and wheelchairs are welcome. · Community Listening Session: West Memphis Area Communities – AARP Arkansas welcomes West Memphis and the surrounding areas to share how their communities can become more livable for everyone.
