“This week at the General Assembly, the House unanimously passed HB 635, which would develop an effective review process for elder abuse. We thank Chairman Sharon Cooper for her leadership on this important legislation. The hearing for SB 351, which would afford full practice authority for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) in rural and underserved areas was scheduled in the Senate Health and Human Services Committee this week, but the has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Also this week, two bills sponsored by Representative Chuck Efstration (HB 896 and HB 897), which would make technical corrections to the Uniform Adult Guardianship and Conservatorship Proceedings Act (passed in 2016) and the Uniform Power of Attorney Act (passed in 2017), passed unanimously out of the House Judiciary subcommittee and full committee.

"Finally, there is a volunteer teletown hall coming up next Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. ET.
