Stories-on-Stage: Your Turn to Read 1 session only • Full Price: $25 with fee AARP Discount: $21 with fee • 2 hr class time

Work with renowned director and Artistic Director of Denver’s Stories on Stage, Anthony Powell, on interpreting a story for an audience. Unlock the text and learn how to present favorite stories. Now it’s your turn to try this exciting skill. A variety of material will be provided.

Ever thought of performing? Have fun making it up as you go. Improv teaches you how to invent characters and scenes in the moment. Exercise the mind and have fun while you're doing it!

This workshop explores the tools of devising original work. Follow the creative spark and activate original scenes and play structures through brainstorming, improvisation and play. Trigger your spontaneity and prompt your inner playwright!

Every day, new studies appear showing that the memorization techniques that actors use for remembering their lines can help us all keep that memory sharp. Learn how you can memorize faster and better, all the while saving time, reducing stress and gaining confidence.

Stephen Weitz, Producing Ensemble Director of the Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, Denver Theatre Person of the Year and guest director of this season’s Denver Center Theatre Company production of Jackie & Me, offers an enlightening series of discussions about the process and practice of creating theatre. By reading scripts from previous and future Theatre Company productions, students will learn how a professional company takes a play all the way from the page to the stage. Discussions will touch on script analysis, conceptualization, casting, design process, rehearsal and all the behind-the-scenes processes that result in the finished product. Classes will include guest artists such as Denver Center actors and designers.

Whether you’re a subscriber, usher, volunteer or theatre novice this class will teach you the fundamentals of the craft. Discover the building blocks of acting through storytelling, theatre games, improvisation and scene work. Bring your lifetime of valuable experiences center stage.
