Run Red Walk: A Navajo Sheepdog, director Melissa Henry, is about a red sheepdog’s search for his lost flock, which takes him across the hills and hollows of the rez. Along the way, he meets some very unexpected characters. This film is in Navajo with English subtitles.  (Red Ant Films, 2010, 17 min.)

Join us for the film followed by a discussion and question and answer session with award-winning artist and filmmaker Melissa Henry, as she talks about her motivation to create the film, and the importance of language revitalization and positive role models. Melissa will share stories about the process of working with her mom’s sheep-herding dogs, the challenges of filming an eye-level account of Red’s adventures, and some joyous moments screening the film for young students.
