Free Day at Foothills Art Center For AARP Members

Please join AARP at Foothills Art Center to view 3 Scientists, 3 Artists, 3 Forms; An Exhibition of Stone on Friday, September 15, 2017. AARP members will enjoy free admission from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

For this unique exhibit we have partnered with the Foothills Art Center to provide this event. Three Golden artists with professional backgrounds in geology will show the beauty of stone art through the lens of science. Visitors will be presented with 3 distinct approaches to the material with stones sourced from all over the world. Susan Judy focuses on an additive approach on her mosaic inspired wall pieces. Chris Herald incorporates interesting and exotic stone into his ornate jewelry. The third artist, Bill Gee, carves beautiful sculpture with more traditional subtractive techniques focusing on living subjects. This show will help to bridge the gap between the schools of sculpture and science.

Visit the AARP table to meet local staff and volunteers.  AARP members must present their membership cards at the admissions desk for free admission.  Normal admission prices apply to friends and family of AARP members.
