Who’s Really On The Line?
The barrage of automated telephone solicitations or “robo calls” we get on our home and mobile phones seems to be never-ending. In fact, robo calls coming into the United States have more than doubled in recent years to nearly 50 billion calls a year.
To make matters worse, experts estimate that up to half of these calls may be attempts to defraud consumers – and Colorado has been hit hard by this massive increase in unwanted scam calls.
Whether it’s on the phone or online, new technologies and spoofing has made it easier than ever for scammers to pretend to be someone they’re not. Whether they are claiming to be from the IRS, your credit card company, bank or credit union, their goal is simple – to fool you into handing over your hard earned money. However, you can do something.
The events are free, but space is limited and preregistration is required. Click on the links above to register.
