From brain health to downsizing: AARP Colorado Speaker’s Bureau on tour

Speaker's Bureau
The AARP Colorado Speaker's Bureau is ready to go on tour and provide great information on a wide array of topics.

The AARP Colorado Speaker’s Bureau team is taking the show on the road and is ready to present on everything from brain health to downsizing to retirement planning.

“Speaker’s Bureau volunteers are on the hunt for presentation opportunities in the community,” Jessica Krough, outreach director, said. “AARP Colorado is dedicated to being wise friends to our 670,000 members and their communities.”

The bureau’s topic portfolio also includes, but is not limited to, job searching, Social Security, and caregiving. A full list of educational offerings and descriptions of each can be found here.

“These sessions are designed to provide valuable information and practical tips to help individuals improve the lives of Coloradans 50-plus,” Krough said.

Passionate volunteers equipped with research-backed information provide the presentations – which are free of charge to groups of 10 people or more and are offered in-person in select areas or virtually.

Each presentation is designed to be interactive and engaging, encouraging participation and questions from attendees.

“Our volunteers and staff offer these presentations because it is crucial for the 50-plus community to have reliable information and resources to make informed decisions about their health, finances and overall well-being,” Krough said.

If you or your group is interested in having the AARP Colorado Speaker’s Bureau provide a free presentation virtually or in-person, please reach out to Jessica Krough at jkrough@aarp.org or 720-947-5310.

Bureau volunteers can work with your group’s existing meeting schedule or collaborate to host a separate event while managing logistics like registration, promotion, and more.

“We’re always looking for new volunteers to participate in the bureau or host the team,” Krough said. “AARP Colorado is excited to take our knowledge and expertise on the road.”
