AARP Eye Center

The AARP Community Challenge grant program this year funded four quick-action projects in Colorado to enhance public spaces for residents of all ages.
The projects are in the following communities.
- Bristol: a garden with raised bed planters, a historical mural, veterans memorial and wind sculpture at the town’s new community center
- Carbondale: a garden with drought-resistant pollinator plants along the Rio Grande Trail
- Trinidad: the restoration of the local history museum’s garden, including division of the space into seven specialty plots
- Lakewood: three murals painted on the ground along the corridor from Eaton Senior Communities to the Belmar downtown district.
Nationwide this year, AARP awarded $3.4 million in Community Challenge grants for 260 projects.
