Did you ever think about becoming a school teacher? Do you have professional experience that you believe would make you an outstanding educator? Did you know that charter schools in Colorado receive a waiver from the educator licensing requirements and frequently hire individuals who have work experience in their field of study, but who may not be traditionally trained as a teacher? Our K-12 students in Colorado need diverse teachers, educators, and leaders standing at the head of their classrooms and schools. This includes diversity in race, ethnicity, age, gender, socioeconomic, geographic, sexual orientation, and academic/professional backgrounds.
The Charter School Teacher Job Fair is held annually in the spring at Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette, Colorado. The 2020 event will be held on Saturday, April 4th. This is the largest teacher job fair in Colorado exclusively for charter schools and presents an excellent opportunity for schools and teaching candidates to participate in face-to-face interviews to discuss career opportunities. Teachers, counselors, administrators, and schools from Colorado and surrounding states will attend. Approximately 70 charter schools and as many as 500 teacher candidates attend this annual event. While most schools participate in this event primarily to hire teaching candidates, many schools are also looking to hire administrators, business office staff, instructional support staff, and other school support positions. All individuals seeking employment at a charter school are encouraged to visit the participating school websites and explore employment options that align with their interests and expertise.
This event is free for all candidates seeking employment as a teacher or in a school setting. You can find more information, a schedule, and a link to register in advance at www.CPDcolorado.org.
