AARP Brings Block Party Experience to the 81st Annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival

The AARP Block Party experience will be among many exciting festivities at this year’s Atlanta Dogwood Festival beginning on Friday, April 7. The Dogwood Festival is an Atlanta staple and multi-generational outdoor affair showcasing fine arts, music, and much more.

The AARP Block Party will provide event goers with a host of exciting activities including our virtual reality experience, stationary spin art bikes and the photo wall. In addition to hosting the Block Party, AARP is making a $5,000 charitable donation to Trees Atlanta for their work protecting and improving the urban forests by planting, conserving, and educating in the greater Atlanta area.

Attendees are encouraged to use hashtag #AARPBlockParty to share their experience.

WHAT:          AARP Block Party will offer a number of interactive features, including:

The AARP Virtual Reality Experience – Experience VR like never before during the AARP VR Experience at the Dogwood Festival. Everyone who participates in the experience walks away with a free AARP-branded Google Cardboard VR viewer.

The AARP Photo Wall – Attendees are encouraged to get their photo taken in front of an artistic Dogwood-themed backdrop.

Stationary Spin Art Bikes – Visitors can to hop on a stationary bike and create their own take-home spin art. Family members or friends are encouraged to squirt paint onto the “canvas” while you spin your wheels creating a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

Giving Trees – Attendees are encouraged to add positive proclamations to the Giving Tree – AARP’s tree of positive affirmations – which will be on-site at the Dogwood Festival.
