There’s no better time than to incorporate fitness into your routine than the holidays. Not only do we tend to increase our caloric intake, many hours are spent relaxing with loved ones – which is wonderful.

Scheduling at least 30 minutes for yourself to focus on moving your body will make you feel better and over time, will build muscle and stamina.

Other positive effects of exercise include a sense of community, improved mood, increased energy and a renewed sense of confidence in oneself.

About the Event
Your total body strength and conditioning workout, part of our “Fitness Friday” series, is led by instructor DaShaun Johnson. Light weights, water, a towel and comfortable clothing are recommended.

The workout incorporates strength training exercises and gets your heart rate up. It allows you to go at your own pace and can be tailored for every fitness level. Please consult your physician before starting any new exercise regimen.

Doing such a workout regularly can help your muscles and bones get stronger so you can perform physical and daily activities more easily. In addition to the workout, each class will offer helpful AARP resources.

How to Join
This is a recurring class on Fridays. You will need to register separately for each class you are interested in attending. Please note that you must be signed in to your AARP.org account or create an account to register for events. AARP membership is not required.
