AARP Georgia Home-Fit volunteer Dennis K. Lippy dedicates his time to educating people about making their homes more accessible.

The Louisville, Kentucky, native graduated from East Kentucky University with a construction technology degree. Shortly after moving to Atlanta, Lippy started his own company, DK Lippy Construction. In 2006, the company became a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS).

Under the DK Lippy Construction Company is a division called Home Free Home Modification. Home Free Home Modification makes homes accessible that will make your home safe and comfortable as you age.

“We have worked with customers who have birth defects, people with injuries, or anyone with any physical challenges,” Lippy said. “We do anything that will increase someone’s independence in their home.”

Lippy started as an AARP Georgia Home-Fit volunteer in fall 2019. The AARP Home-Fit guide helps people stay in the homes they love by turning where they live into a “lifelong home,” suitable for themselves and anyone in their household.

“I enjoy educating the consumer,” Lippy said. “I enjoy letting everyone know that they do not have to recreate the wheel because there are solutions to problems.”

During Lippy’s free time, he enjoys reading, spending time with his family, walking, and golfing. Currently, he is renovating his home.

“I am excited to be a part of Home-Fit, and I am looking forward to see how we can make it grow,” Lippy said.
