The Augusta VOLT Training Session was led by VOLTs Chris Palmer and Jean Yarsawich. Their agenda focused on facilitation techniques, fraud prevention, caregiving, and Age-Friendly Livable Communities.

Will Johnston (Executive Director for MicroLife) in partnership with the Pinewood Forest’s builder, architect and county’s leadership organized the event that attracted 100+ people.
ASD Jil Hinds was contacted by a woman veteran she assisted in 2015. At that time the veteran was homeless with two small children. Due to a tragic incident, the family is again displaced. Jil was able to connect the veteran with Operation Seas the Day a retreat for Post 9/11 combat wounded veterans and their families.

Come join us for our monthly volunteer meeting and check out what's happening locally with AARP in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA)! With the exception of holidays, the volunteer team meets the first Thursday of each month from 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Due to Independence Day Holiday, we will not hold our regular monthly meeting in July. We will resume on August 1st.
