Telehealth Can Help Fill Gaps in Care

for-post-telehealth

More than 3.2 million Georgians live in medically underserved areas, meaning there are not enough health care professionals to tend to their needs. The problem is especially acute in rural areas.

Telehealth can alleviate the shortage by connecting patients with health care providers through high-tech communications. AARP Georgia is hosting a Telehealth Summit on Tuesday, Aug. 7, in Cumming to help local residents learn how it works—and how Georgia legislators are working to expand access to telehealth.

The free event will be 10 a.m-2 p.m. at the Forsyth Conference Center, Lanier Technical College, 3410 Ronald Reagan Blvd. Lunch is included, and registration is required. To reserve a seat, go to aarp.cvent.com/2018TelehealthSummit.
