New AARP data informs the nation of the needs of 63 million American caregivers
As of November 1, 2025, millions of Americans—including many older Georgians—may not receive their monthly food benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. This disruption affects individuals living on fixed incomes, many of whom rely on SNAP to afford groceries and maintain their health.

Join AARP Georgia volunteers and staff at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park April 12-14! The AARP tent will be on the 10th Street side, somewhat adjacent to Grady High School.
WASHINGTON -- Are you, or do you know someone age 50 or older who is using their life experience to give back, solve problems or change lives? If so, nominate them or yourself for the AARP Purpose Prize award. Up to five winners will each receive $60,000.
