AARP Idaho is pleased to announce that Janie Nirk of Potlatch, Idaho is the recipient of the 2017 Andrus Award for Community Service, the Association’s most prestigious volunteer award. Each year AARP honors the legacy of AARP founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, with the AARP Andrus Award for Community Service. This award is a symbol of the power of individuals to make a difference in the lives of others.

AARP Idaho announced today that Lynn Young of Meridian was selected to receive the 2016 Andrus Award for Community Service, the Association’s most prestigious volunteer award. Each year AARP honors the legacy of AARP founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, with the AARP Andrus Award for Community Service. This award is a symbol of the power of individuals to make a difference in the lives of others. AARP Idaho state director Lupe Wissel will present the honor to Young at an upcoming ceremony in Boise.
Want to be part of something big in the Gem State? AARP Foundation is looking to expand its team of volunteers for the upcoming tax season by recruiting interested individuals. Tax-Aide is an AARP Foundation program that offers free tax filing help during the tax season. This program is available to anyone, young or old, AARP member or not.
AARP Driver Safety (ADS) is seeking a highly qualified person to serve as the next State Coordinator for Idaho. The current State Coordinator, Roger Wheeler, has decided to retire from the position. This is an unpaid volunteer position. Any ADS volunteer or individual outside of the program is welcomed to apply. Please refer to the attached position description for additional information.
