The right to drive should be based on ability and not age, state lawmakers, AARP Illinois and older adults said at a press conference Tuesday.
Did you know Illinois is the ONLY state that requires older adults to take an extra test for their license? This law in Illinois applies to all drivers over 75, even though research shows that this age group has the fewest crashes and are among the safest drivers on our roadways.
The state’s 1.3 million family caregivers are in crisis, spending time and money they don’t have to take care of their loved ones, while feeling lost and overwhelmed trying to find reliable resources and information, state lawmakers and AARP Illinois said at a press conference Wednesday.

And AARP is ramping up its education efforts with a five-part online fraud prevention series.
