Want to make an impact in the lives of older adults?
AARP has a local presence in Iowa to help people age 50+ to amplify their voice, share resources, and support each other where they live. From practical resources like fraud prevention presentations to community activities and fun events, AARP Iowa is here to help empower older adults to choose how they live as they age.

AARP Iowa has nearly 200 volunteers across the state engaged directly in activities like state and local advocacy, educational programming, and fun activities that build social connections. Some examples of volunteer positions are below:

Partner with staff on efforts related to federal, state and local issues by contacting lawmakers, attending events at the Capitol, sharing personal testimonies and more.
Community Team
Community volunteers in the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids metro areas help with registration at events, staff AARP tables at fairs/events, assist with projects at AARP, and much more.
Speakers Team
