Honoring Those Who Have Served

Active duty military members can get free admission to Riverfest events in Wichita on June 7.

Riverfest, the largest annual community event in the state, features concerts, parades, eating contests and athletic events. This year’s festival runs June 3-June 11. AARP Kansas is sponsoring a military salute to veterans on June 7 at 7:45 p.m. on the RedGuard stage. A concert with Sinbad and Rudy Love will take place on the stage immediately afterward.

In addition, AARP Kansas staff and volunteers will be on hand to distribute information about caregiving, fraud prevention and various ways to get involved.
