Louisiana is heading into peak hurricane season, with the Bayou State at heightened risk of a storm from mid-August to early October. AARP Louisiana is urging residents to be prepared.
That means being stocked up on items such as water, nonperishable food, flashlights and batteries. It also means making a personal care plan and setting aside a minimum three-day supply of medications. You should also compile contact information for family members; your medication regimen, including dosage and the prescribing doctor for each drug; a list of food and medical allergies; copies of photo IDs and medical insurance cards; and power of attorney documents.
