AARP Eye Center
Interested in a community-level volunteer opportunity that can truly make a difference in the life of a child and his or her future? We're looking for people to be paired as volunteer literacy tutors to help children attending school in Boston and Revere improve their reading and literacy skills.
At AARP Massachusetts, we work with Generations Incorporated, a highly regarded 25 year-old nonprofit organization in Greater Boston and the Massachusetts affiliate of AARP Foundation Experience Corps. Generations Incorporated matches volunteers with individual children who attend one of 17 public schools or after-school programs in Boston and Revere, who need help developing their literacy skills.
With your time and guidance as a volunteer literacy tutor, a child has the chance to improve his or her literacy skills. Several options for volunteering are available to accommodate your schedule and interests and schedule, and complete training is provided — you can contribute as few as five hours per week.
To learn more about this volunteer opportunity, join us at an upcoming coffee hour.
Refreshments will be served, and there is no fee to attend.
Please RSVP for a coffee hour by calling 617-423-6633 or by sending an email * to volunteerinfo@generationsinc.org .
